14.30: Plenary Session: UNISG Alumni Association - what’s cooking?
Let’s have ourselves some time together to learn about exciting things coming for the new year: first things first, behold the launch of the all-new, shiny web platform for the Alumni Association! It’s glossy, cool and packed with sparkling functions which will take the networking, discussions, learning and initiatives to a whole new level and then some more.
Let’s talk together: how can we really make the Association the common house for all of us Pollenzo-bred gastronomes?
16.00: Focus on: Gastronomy as a tool for Social Innovation Design
What is “social innovation”, really? And what role can trained professionals from the food world — we, the gastronomes! — play in shaping it?
In this session, the team from Weco, a social innovation design agency working across the fields of agrifood, community empowerment, and territorial development, will guide us through tools and methods for designing social transformation projects.
Real-world case studies will be provided, from non-profits to social enterprise, each with their own strategies, challenges, and potential for impact.
Join the conversation to explore cross-disciplinary opportunities and rethink how to design change.
17.30
Focus on: Communication you can sink your teeth into - food talk, more than a side dish
Food communication is a jungle: amidst the noise finding your voice, and choosing what to say, matters more than ever.
Alumna Aurora Cavallo (a.k.a. Cooker Girl - creator, author and chef), Francesca Mastrovito (co-editor -in- chief at Osterie d'Italia 2023-24-25) and Luca Martinelli (journalist and author), moderated by Greta Contardo (publisher and author, secretary of the Alumni Association), are going to guide the audience through a journey along the evolutions of media and publishing, and discuss ways to spin food communication - from a mere side to the juicy main course of shaping culture, value and identities.
18.30:
Tasting: A journey across Italy - from Valtellina to Piana del Sele
Join us for an unmissable tasting featuring award-winning cheeses by the Bitto Storico Ribelle consortium (Lombardy), Azienda Agricola La Bersagliera and Caseificio Il Casolare (Campania) — a flavour-packed journey from north to south through some of Italy’s most celebrated dairy products.
Meet the producers, hear their stories, and discover how permanent grasslands — the key theme of this year’s Cheese — play a vital role in shaping quality and identity.
Enjoy a pairing with selected wines from the Oltrepò Pavese Consortium, curated by director and UNISG Alumnus Riccardo Binda.
19.30: Time for a toast
A final aperitivo to raise a glass together and celebrate the day.
